Galatians//Remixed: The Return of the King—the Spirit as God’s Promised Re-visitation (Galatians 3.10-14)

In the Hebrew Scriptures God promised that one day he would dwell within his people. In Christ and with the coming of the Spirit that promise of the New Age comes true. Like a dam, the law held the blessings of the Spirit back from the world. Paul states that Christ’s death has broken that barrier down, allowing these blessings to flow to the world.

Galatians//Remixed: The Answer to History’s Most Important Question (Galatians 3.6-9)

Three of the world major religions all claim to be the true children of Abraham (Judaism, Christianity and Islam)—but what does it really mean to be his children? Paul challenges the thought that one must be a physical descendent of Abraham. How does faith trump religion every time?

Galatians//Remixed: Experience of the Spirit as Evidence of Membership (Galatians 3.1-5)

Paul asks five rhetorical questions all based on how the Galatians became part of the people of God. Was it by obeying the religious laws of Israel of by way of the Spirit of God? Today in many denominations we have relegated the person of the Spirit to series’ on spiritual gifts etc.—but is this what God intended? How do we truly start living in the Spirit even though for many of us it is a new thing?

Galatians//Remixed: Disunity as Anti-Gospel (Galatians 2.11-14)

Peter breaks table fellowship with Gentiles because they are Gentiles. Paul becomes angry and says that in this act of disunity Peter has rebuilt the very social barriers the gospel has demolished. Today the church fights and divides over so many issues; what does the gospel have to say about staying together at the same table even when we disagree?

Galatians//Remixed: The Burden of Religion vs. Freedom in Christ (Galatians 2.1-10)

Paul states that there are people in Galatia that want to burden people down with religion, even though Paul says they are truly free. There are many within the Christian church today who have not understood the gospel to be about freedom, but about more laws to burden people down. What does Paul have to say to them?

End of Religion (Video Podcast, MP4)

Religion has been used to abuse, oppress and destroy people all throughout human history. God has been infused into ideological battles and physical wars from the beginning of time. This is a short film that explores that reality, and has as its message a call for the end of religion—to be replaced by relationship with God through Jesus of Nazareth.

The Gospel//Remixed (Video Podcast, MP4)

The Gospel//Remixed: In an individualistic society like the Western world it is easy to see how the gospel has become about individuals getting into heaven when they die—but Paul’s gospel in Galatians has little or nothing to do with such a concept. The question of his gospel is: how does one become part of the family of God? This video takes a section of a lecture from theologian Gordon D. Fee, and combines it with images that reflect this challenging message.

Galatians//Remixed: How God used a Terrorist to Change the World (Galatians 1.11-24)

Paul tells his own story—about once being a terrorist, killing Christians, and how God then called him to be a messenger/prophet to the world. It challenges the church of today to play a prophetic role in a society which is just as lost in idol worship as Paul’s was.

Galatians//Remixed: A Perverted Gospel is no Gospel at all (Galatians 1.6-9)

Paul says that the Agitators gospel is not good news at all because it seeks to put the burden of religion on to people that God has freed from religion. His gospel is shown as a subversive message that challenges Caesar’s empire and asks weather we are living for the approval of God or of people?

Galatians//Remixed: The Gospel Remixed (Galatians 1.1-5)

Paul begins his letter to the Galatian church by explaining the gospel as God's rescue operation. The message of Galatians challenges the 21st Century Church in its understanding of "the gospel" and asks weather we need to re-examine what we mean by this important phrase
